Price census methodology
Gaming Parts Monitor is an independent observatory of PC hardware prices in Algeria. No store pays to appear and no commission is taken on sales.
What we measure
Every morning at 04:00 Algiers time, an automated crawl visits the tracked Algerian stores and records the displayed price and stock status for every product. One measurement is kept per product, per store, per day.
The stores we track
The census covers 12 Algerian retailers, including GigaStore, LICB+, KOTEK, Hardsoft, Novyx, GamingDZ and Campus Informatique. Each store’s health is monitored: a store that stops responding is flagged as broken rather than silently dropped.
How a deal is calculated
For the same product, prices recorded on the same day are compared across stores. Two references are distinguished: the cross-store median for market anomalies, and the store’s own historical peak for historical drops. A listing is only flagged when it sits materially below its reference, never on the seller’s struck-through price.
History and alerts
Every measurement feeds a per-store history. It separates a genuine price drop from a short-lived promotion and answers the question: is this a good moment to buy?
Limitations
- Prices and stock can change after the morning crawl. Always check the store page before buying.
- Shipping fees are not included in the compared prices.
- Matching offers to the same product is automated and can, rarely, group two close variants.
- Gaming Parts Monitor does not sell hardware and takes no merchant commission.
